On June 19 (Saturday), graduate students majoring in ICT convergence and safety at Chung-Ang University Graduate School conducted a VR (virtual reality)-related experiential learning under the guidance of Professor Jeong Sang (hereafter, Professor Jeong).
This is a firefighting training class using the VR Danger Prediction Training System (DAPREs) of Interact Co., Ltd. (CEO Kwon Nam-hyuk), which consists of 10 scenarios.
In the VR room, practice was conducted on how to escape, report a fire, use a fire extinguisher, and use emergency lights in case of a subway fire. In addition, training was conducted to prepare for various dangerous situations that can be experienced in the field, such as a building fire.
In particular, through VR, not only emergency evacuation, use of fire extinguishers, and emergency lights, but also field visits as firefighters, fire suppression using fire hoses, and fire suppression in the event of a backlift were systematically practiced in preparation for an actual fire.
